The Jacobean Jacket is a historic style jacket similar to the Margaret Layton jacket which is on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The Jacobean Jacket features front and back princess seams, godets, shoulder wings, a round standing collar, back neck darts and two piece sleeves. The jacket does not have a side seam, as seen in the original garment, since the godets create the hip flair. The Jacket is fully lined, has front and back facings, and inside pockets. For a modern interpretation, the collar and shoulder wings can be omitted. The pattern includes full-size historic Jacobean floral and scrollwork designs for optional embellishment. Sizes 4 to 26 are included. Recommended Fabrics: embroidered silk and linen, light to medium weight upholstery and interior decorating brocades, denim, wool, gabardine.
